“Breakfast in Varna” is the second chapter of my series “The Breakfast Club.” Sometimes a place’s most authentic tradition isn’t found in a cozy café, but finds us right in the midst of our busy daily lives. Inspired by my travels to Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, this piece captures a very special moment of hospitality: When a colleague heard about my art project, he surprised us right in the office with fresh banitsa.
It’s proof that the soul of a place often lies in the simplest gestures and shared moments. A portrait of living culture that shows how food connects us all, no matter where we are in the world.
