Rolled Prints

  1. Avoid touching the print: Always handle the print with clean hands or acid-free gloves. This will prevent dirt, scratches or fingerprints from damaging the print.
  2. Unroll carefully: Use both hands to unroll slowly and gently. Avoid bending as this can cause wrinkles or creases.
  3. Flatten the print: Place the print on a flat surface and press down on the edges with weights (such as books) to flatten the print. Place acid-free tissue paper between the surface, the weights and the print to protect it from dirt and scratches. Allow the print to settle for a day or two before framing.
  4. Storage: If the print needs to be stored before framing, wrap it in acid-free tissue paper to prevent it from sticking or rubbing against other surfaces. Store the print in the tube provided and protect it from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

Once these points have been carefully followed, the print is ready to be framed!

Originals

  1. Handle with clean hands: Always make sure your hands are clean and dry or wear acid-free gloves when touching the painting to avoid getting oils or dirt on the surface.
  2. Protect from direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the colours to fade. Place the painting in a location with soft, indirect light.
  3. Avoid high humidity and extreme temperatures: Maintain a constant environment and avoid areas of high humidity, heat or cold to protect the paint and canvas.
  4. Dust carefully: Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Never use water, sprays or harsh materials.
  5. Protect the frame: If the painting is framed, the frame should be stable and free of dust. The stability of the frame should be checked regularly.
  6. Consult a specialist: Consult a professional art restorer for a thorough cleaning, framing or restoration to prevent damage to the artwork.

With the right care, your original will continue to inspire and fascinate generations to come!
